10"-12" Wide European Oak

Hunters Creek floor plans are vast — 8,000-20,000 sq ft is typical. Standard 5" or 7" planks visually under-scale at this size. We carry European oak in 10" and 12" widths, in lengths up to 87". Most Hunters Creek specs land at 10" wide on engineered 5/8" or 3/4" construction with a 4-6mm wear layer.

Riva Spain — Texas Exclusive

Hunters Creek is the largest market in Texas for Riva Spain hardwood. We're the only authorized distributor in the state. Riva's slow-grown Spanish oak — tighter grain, more even finish absorption, lifetime structural warranty — has been specified into roughly 40 Hunters Creek estates since 2020. It's the differentiating spec at this price point.

French Herringbone and Versailles Parquet

Estate-scale formal entries, libraries, and dining rooms increasingly call for pattern flooring. We supply French herringbone, chevron, and Versailles parquet panels in both European oak and Riva Spain. Versailles panels arrive pre-assembled in 31"x31" or 39"x39" tiles — install times are 2-3x straight-lay so plan finish-schedule accordingly.

Custom Stain Matching

Hunters Creek designers frequently request custom stains to match millwork, paneling, or existing furniture. We coordinate with three Houston-area site finishers we trust for stain matching on unfinished European oak. Lead time for a custom stain spec: add 2 weeks for sample approval before mill order.

Houston Install Considerations for Hunters Creek Estates

Slab vs. pier-and-beam

Hunters Creek is mixed — newer custom builds (post-1990) are largely on post-tension slab; original Memorial Villages homes (1950s-1970s) are often pier-and-beam. Each requires a different spec profile, and the determination has to be made at the architectural-plan stage, not after material is on order. We send a tech for site assessment before final spec on every Hunters Creek project regardless of size.

Multi-zone HVAC and humidity control

Estate-scale homes have multi-zone HVAC. We require documentation that whole-home dehumidification is online and balanced before hardwood delivery. A Hunters Creek estate that's still in finish-out without HVAC running gets material held at our Houston warehouse, not dropped on-site. This is a warranty position — moisture damage during construction is not a manufacturer-covered failure.

Wooded lot tree shade and seasonal humidity

Hunters Creek's heavy tree canopy keeps lots cooler and damper than open neighborhoods. Acclimation periods run 14-21 days on Hunters Creek installs vs the standard 7-10. Don't compress this — we've seen otherwise-perfect installs fail on rushed acclimation in Hunters Creek's microclimate.

Yes. We supply unfinished European oak and coordinate with site finishers for custom stain matching. Sample approval typically takes 2-3 weeks. We don't recommend custom stain on prefinished Riva Spain — the factory finish system is engineered as one unit.

Do you handle estate renovations or only new builds?

Both. Renovation work in Hunters Creek often requires matching original 1960s-1970s oak — we offer sourcing on reclaimed European oak with comparable grain and aging for those projects.
