Lackey Road Residence

The Lackey Road residence is a high-end custom home in Sutton, Massachusetts, designed and built by McGovern Development Corp. The flooring brief: a warm, character-grade hardwood that would read traditional but stay contemporary — something that would age beautifully across decades, not just years.

RIVA Elite Mercury in 8-inch wide-plank Character grade was the answer. Mercury is one of RIVA's most-specified colors: a warm mid-brown with enough variation to feel honest, but enough consistency to read coherent across 4,000+ square feet of installation. Character grade brings the knots, mineral streaks, and natural color variation that give a floor its sense of having always been there.

This installation showcases what RIVA Elite does best in real residential application — the 4mm wear layer means the floor can be refinished 2-3 times over its useful life, and the VOC-free construction meets even the strictest indoor air quality standards. The 96-inch long-board format gives larger spaces a more architectural read, with fewer end-joints breaking up the grain across long sight lines.
