Hard-wax oil finish forgives kid and dog traffic.

University Park lot widths (typically 60-75 feet) create long sightlines through open-plan main floors. 9" wide European oak in lengths up to 87" reads continuous from entry through to kitchen and family room. Plank length consistency is a quality signal at this price point.

North Texas Install Considerations for University Park

Slab construction

Modern University Park custom builds and tear-down rebuilds are on post-tension slab. Engineered hardwood with moisture-mitigation membrane is the correct spec. Solid hardwood on slab fails in DFW's seasonal humidity profile.

Older homes (pre-1970 pier-and-beam)

A small inventory of original University Park homes remains on pier-and-beam — typically targeted for renovation. We send a tech for crawl space and vapor barrier assessment before final spec on pier-and-beam projects.

HVAC and humidity control

University Park HVAC should target 35-55% RH year-round. Engineered oak handles DFW's seasonal swings far better than solid. We require dehumidification documentation before hardwood delivery to a University Park site.
