Volk Estates is one of Dallas's most exclusive enclaves — a small pocket within University Park (75205) defined by oversized lots, mature pecan canopies, and an architectural vernacular that runs from 1930s-1940s traditional through modern hill country contemporary. Volk lots are larger than most of UP (typically 0.5-1.5 acres) and the design intent runs higher per square foot than any other Dallas neighborhood except Preston Hollow.

What Volk Estates Projects Typically Spec
10"-12" Wide European Oak
Volk Estates floor plans typically run 7,000-15,000 sq ft. 10" and 12" wide European oak in lengths up to 87" reads at the right scale. Most Volk specs land on engineered 5/8" or 3/4" construction with 4-6mm wear layer in natural-oil or hard-wax oil finish.
Riva Spain — Texas Exclusive
Volk Estates is one of our strongest Dallas Riva Spain markets. As Texas's only authorized distributor, we've supplied Riva to roughly 15 Volk projects since 2020. The slow-grown Spanish grain reads premium against Volk's typically restrained design palette.
Versailles Parquet and French Herringbone
Volk's larger formal entries, libraries, and dining rooms commonly call for pattern flooring. Versailles parquet (31"x31" or 39"x39" pre-assembled tiles) reads particularly well at Volk estate scale. We supply Versailles parquet and French herringbone in both European oak and Riva Spain.
Custom Stain Matching
Volk designers frequently request custom stains to match millwork, paneling, or existing furniture. We coordinate with three Dallas-area site finishers we trust for stain matching on unfinished European oak. Lead time for a custom stain spec adds 2 weeks for sample approval.
North Texas Install Considerations for Volk Estates
Mixed slab and pier-and-beam
Volk Estates is mixed — newer custom builds (post-2000) are on post-tension slab; original 1930s-1940s homes are often pier-and-beam. Each requires its own spec profile. We send a tech for site assessment before final spec on every Volk project.
Multi-zone HVAC and humidity control
Estate-scale Volk homes have multi-zone HVAC with whole-home dehumidification. We require documentation that the system is online and balanced before hardwood delivery — material gets held at our Houston warehouse if HVAC isn't running. Warranty position, not sales position.
Pecan canopy microclimate
Volk's mature pecan canopy keeps lots cooler and damper than open North Dallas neighborhoods. Acclimation periods on Volk installs run 10-14 days. We monitor moisture readings throughout.
Delivery from Houston
Volk Estates is approximately 4 hours from our Houston warehouse. White-glove delivery to Volk job sites at no extra freight charge. Larger projects ship in phases coordinated against your construction schedule.

No. Trade-only. Volk homeowners specify our hardwood through their builder or designer's trade account.
Largest Volk project you've supplied?
17,800 sq ft of Riva Spain plus 1,400 sq ft of Versailles parquet across a Volk Estates new build, delivered in three phases. Largest single Dallas-market project to date.
Can you supply Versailles parquet for a Volk formal entry?
Yes. We supply Versailles parquet in 31"x31" or 39"x39" pre-assembled tiles, in both European oak and Riva Spain. Install times run 2-3x straight-lay so plan finish-schedule accordingly.
Do you have a Dallas showroom?
Not currently — our showroom is at 2643 Colquitt St in Houston (about 4 hours away). For Volk projects we courier samples and travel for design reviews and sample-board approval.
Can you coordinate with Dallas-area site finishers?
Yes. We have three Dallas-area site finishers we trust for stain matching and custom finish work on unfinished European oak. Coordination handled at spec stage.
